Issues
In June 2019, Airbus Saint Eloi in Toulouse encountered significant challenges related to employee well-being at its manufacturing facility. Employees reported severe discomfort and distractions due to strong odors, which were affecting their concentration and productivity. These issues were linked to the use of potent solvents, primers, and metal surface preparations in the production processes.
SOLUTION
Ellona provided an innovative solution to address Airbus’s specific needs:
- WT1 Pro sensors: Deployed for localized monitoring of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ammonia (NH₃), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), odors, and noise at various strategic points within the workshops.
- POD2 sensors: Used for ultra-localized measurements at the worker level, enabling precise identification of nuisance sources.
- Cloud platform: Integrated for centralized data management, facilitating real-time analysis and recognition of nuisance patterns.
KEY RESULTS
- Implementation of an anonymous and GDPR-compliant feedback system: QR codes connected to EllonaSoft Cloud software allowed employees to provide detailed feedback on their working environment.
- Rapid identification of specific nuisance sources: Data analysis enabled immediate corrective actions to address identified issues.
- Significant improvement in the working environment and productivity: Organizational practices were adapted based on employee feedback.
- Enhanced employee engagement and compliance with health and safety standards: Resulting in improved quality of life at work and reduced complaints related to working conditions.
This project demonstrates Ellona’s commitment to using advanced technologies to enhance air quality and employee well-being in sensitive industrial environments like Airbus Saint Eloi in Toulouse.
