Issues
As part of our partnership with JCDecaux, a global leader in urban furniture management, this study aims to assess the cleanliness of public self-cleaning toilets in real time using Ellona’s innovative technologies. Public self-cleaning toilets play a crucial role in urban infrastructure by providing sanitary facilities to citizens and visitors, thereby contributing to comfort and well-being in densely populated urban areas. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness is essential to ensure their continued use and user satisfaction.
SOLUTION
KEY RESULTS
Through the integration of advanced POD2 sensors from ELLONA and real-time data analysis with the EllonaSoft platform, we have achieved the following results:
- Model performance: The classification tree-based model demonstrated a 97% accuracy in predicting air quality inside JC Decaux’s sanitation units, validating its effectiveness for real-time monitoring.
- Key variables: Parameters such as temperature, humidity, and noise level were identified as the primary determinants of the environmental quality within the sanitation units.
- Recommendations: Based on our findings, we recommend integrating additional sensors to monitor other aspects, such as specific odors, and adjusting cleaning protocols according to observed variations.
This study highlights the importance and feasibility of real-time monitoring of the cleanliness of JC Decaux’s sanitation units using advanced technologies. By implementing these solutions, JC Decaux can not only enhance user satisfaction by ensuring optimal sanitary conditions but also optimize operational management of its services. This work paves the way for proactive urban infrastructure management, contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more pleasant urban environment for everyone.
