Real-time monitoring of environmental emissions at your construction sites

To streamline your operations, safeguard your employees, and ensure compliance with environmental standards

In the public works and construction sectors, a diverse array of atmospheric emissions is produced, resulting in significant impacts such as noise and odor pollution, as well as emissions of fine particles and volatile organic compounds.

Real-time monitoring is crucial to ensure worker safety, adhere to environmental regulations, and maintain healthy working conditions. At Ellona, we are committed to fostering and advancing responsible practices in the construction industry, all while safeguarding the health and well-being of all stakeholders involved.

DUSTKAIR

Your portable solution for accurate monitoring of employee exposure to fine particles.

Accurate monitoring of air quality on construction and demolition sites is crucial for reducing risks associated with fine particles, particularly crystalline silica. The regulations in force since July 1, 2023, set strict exposure limits: 0.9 mg/m³ for respirable dust and 0.1 mg/m³ for respirable crystalline silica. These fine particles emitted on sites pose a potential danger to worker health and the well-being of nearby residents. Their size, often less than 2.5 micrometers, allows them to penetrate deep into the respiratory tract, leading to significant health risks.

DUSTKAIR is an innovative portable system specifically designed to be worn by employees on-site. With DUSTKAIR, you gain advanced and proactive monitoring to protect the health of your workers and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Features of DUSTKAIR:

  • Precise and patented identification method using spectrophotometry and an exclusive algorithm.
  • Real-time measurements ensuring continuous monitoring.
  • Portable system designed for use close to the respiratory pathways.
  • Rechargeable battery with a 10-hour lifespan, ensuring full coverage throughout an entire workday.
  • Accurate detection of alveolar particles (<5μm), including crystalline silica, as well as thoracic particles (5μm to 10μm).

Your questions, our solutions

Which particulate and crystalline silica monitoring should you choose for your construction sites?

To monitor fine particles (PM1, PM2.5, PM10) and crystalline silica on your construction sites, Ellona offers tailored solutions. Dustkair, a portable device, measures inhaled particles in real time—including crystalline silica—and can be worn close to the respiratory tract. In addition, the fixed WT1 Lite and WT1 Pro devices provide continuous outdoor particle monitoring. These systems help identify pollution sources and track changes in concentration over time, while centralizing data on the EllonaSoft platform. This enables optimized health risk management and a quick response when thresholds are exceeded.

For fine particle monitoring in indoor environments, such as living quarters or offices on or near construction sites, Ellona’s POD2 is the ideal solution.

Which gas monitoring solution to choose for your construction sites?

The WT1 Pro and WT1 Lite devices from Ellona are designed to perform a multi-parameter analysis of gas emissions on construction sites. Using a combination of electrochemical and optical sensors, these devices detect a wide range of gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), while allowing precise identification of the gases’ nature and their specific sources. By analyzing data in real-time through the EllonaSoft platform, these devices model gas dispersion, identify pollution areas, and enable targeted corrective actions, thereby optimizing risk management.

For gas monitoring in indoor environments, such as living quarters or offices on or near construction sites, the POD2 from Ellona provides the ideal solution.

Which acoustic monitoring system should you choose for your construction sites?

Noise management on construction sites is essential to reduce sound disturbances and protect workers’ health. Ellona’s fixed devices, WT1 Lite and WT1 Pro, provide continuous acoustic monitoring by accurately measuring sound levels and identifying noise sources. These devices operate using noise sensors placed throughout the site and advanced signal processing software.

Before work begins, noise levels are modeled, and threshold limits are set to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. During construction, the devices track sound levels in real time and alert operators when thresholds are exceeded. They also help identify and locate specific sources of noise (such as machinery, vehicles, or equipment).

In case of exceedance, corrective actions can be implemented, such as adjusting work zones, deploying acoustic barriers, or reducing working hours to limit worker exposure. All collected data is centralized on the EllonaSoft platform, enabling real-time analysis and proactive noise management, while ensuring worker safety and infrastructure protection.
